Brand Monitoring – How to create a monitoring campaign
Creating a campaign to monitor a brand, its products and competitors in Social Media is very easy with Noteca. The best way is to combine several keyphrases so that you don’t miss a single detail of the things you want to monitor in blogs, blog comments, twitter and facebook.
Let’s imagine we want to monitor a specific Nokia campaign in Spain and we also want to know what people are saying about its competitors, LG, Samsung and Siemens, in Social Media.
How would we create this campaign?
First of all we would create two rooms, which are used in Noteca to group keyphrases with similar themes. The first we would call Nokia, and the second Competitors.
If, for example, we only introduced the keyphrase Nokia, we would have lots of results, not only from Spain, which is what most interests us, but from the entire world. We would have enough mentions to bore us silly and the campaign wouldn’t be very effective. Too much noise.
So, the keyphrases must be more specific, so as to avoid the noise, and they must be more related to the topic that interests us. Therefore, in the Nokia room we’d create the following keyphrases:
Nokia Spain
Nokia mobiles
Nokia mobile
To monitor competitors through Noteca we’ve created the room Competitors and in this room we would create the following keyphrases:
LG Spain
LG mobiles
LG mobile
Samsung Spain
Samsung mobiles
Samsung mobile
Siemens Spain
Siemens mobiles
Siemens mobile
Creating several keyphrases relating to the same topic ensures reliable results and blocks out the noise that an imprecise search can generate. The advantage Noteca has over traditional search engines is that it monitors multiple searches, then it orders the mentions by relevance and in addition it tells you if the author is influential or not so that you optimise your time when responding.
Once the results appear it is easy to check each brand’s position in Social Media thanks to Noteca’s statistics.
