Spain is the most popular summer holiday country in the english speaking blogosphere and social networks
We have used Noteca to analyze the english speaking blogosphere’s and social networks’ most popular holiday countries for the summer.

To perform this analysis we have analyzed a set of more than 4000 blog posts, tweets and Facebook posts that speak about there holiday resorts. The analysis covers the period between June 16th and July 16th. We have tried to compare the most touristic countries: Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, USA.

The bloggers’, twitters’ and Facebook authors’ most popular country to spend their holidays is Spain, with 11,7% of the mentions.
The second most mentioned holiday resort in blogs, Twitter and Facebook is France, with 8,5% of the mentions.
The last step of the podium is for Italy with 6% of the mentions.
The rest of the favorite countries to spend the holidays are: England (5,9%), Australia (5,7%), Germany (5,1%), Greece (5%), Turkey (4,6%), India (4,4%), USA (4,3%), China (4,3%), Egypt (3,8%), México (3,4%), New Zealand (3,2%), Japan (3,1%), Portugal (3,1%), Thailand (3%), Brazil (2,6%), Russia (2%), Austria (1,8%), Morocco (1,7%), Sweden (1,7%), Denmark (1,3%), Norway (1,1%), Peru (1,1%), Jordan (0,9%), South Africa (0,7%)
This data was obtained with Noteca, a web app that monitors the presence of brands en blogs and social networks and that was designed to manage the online reputation of a brand in blogs and social networks. This time it was used to monitor the popularity of holiday resorts in the world.
